In comparison with standard pure titanium welding wire, the addition of the palladium element in ERTi-7 can improve the weld corrosion resistance in certain corrosive media. So it can be used for the tube line, valves, heat exchanger, chemical equipment and so on that has high requirement on corrosion resisting.
Apart from grade & specification, surface cleanliness, dimensional consistency and protective conditions during welding are just as critical for titanium welding wire. Titanium can be contaminated with elements including oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen while welding at high temperature, therefore, surface preparation and inert gas protection are necessary procedures for producing a good welded seam.
