GR1 pure titanium is a non-alloyed, low-strength titanium product with low oxygen content and high formability.The excellent elongation and impact strength of this product are well adapted to complex forming process which includes deep drawing and cold bending. This grade of titanium is employed for fuselage, heat exchangers, and seawater desalalinization needs.
GR2 pure titanium is a medium strength titanium grade which is non-alloyed titanium. It has good weldability and corrosion resistance, and it is known as "the primary the commercial pure titanium". It can effectively combine good strength, plasticity, corrosion resistance and weldability and high efficiency in cost is offered. This grade of titanium is used in heat exchangers, condensers, evaporator circuits, power plant condensers, seawater desalination, and medical goods.
GR5 titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) is an alloyed titanium product with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium and which meets the requirements of medium strength titanium alloy. This titanium grade is most commonly used for fuselage and turbine engine items, as well as for surgical implants.
GR7 (titanium-palladium alloy, Ti-0.2Pd) The "king of corrosion resistance" has superior corrosion resistance in oxidizing media.It also possesses some resistance to reductive media, particularly improving its resistance to crevice corrosion in high chloride ion concentration environments. This titanium grade is mainly used for production equipment and components in highly corrosive environments, such as containers and pipelines handling high-temperature, high-concentration acidic solutions. It is also employed for reactors and pipeline systems with extremely high requirements for material purity and corrosion resistance, as well as for devices treating chloride-containing waste liquids.
GR12 (titanium-molybdenum-nickel alloy, Ti-0.3Mo-0. 8Ni), which is widely recognized as the best crevice corrosion specialist, has excellent strengthening effect on cp Ti and the strength are enhanced by adding Mo (molybdenum) and Ni (nickel) which are non-precious metals. The corrosion resistance of it is better than pure titanium, it is close to TA9 alloy, a kind of economical corrosion resisting alloy.It resists crevice corrosion in chloride concentrations of 150-200.This grade of titanium is used mainly for high temperature, high pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines containing acids, hydrometallurgical equipment, and for lines and pieces in desalination plants.
Ti-Al-Sn-Zr-Mo-Si (Ti-6.5Al-1Mo-1V-2Zr) has better room temperature and elevated temperature strength, fracture toughness, fatigue limit, stress corrosion resistance, corrosion resistance, and weldability than Ti6Al4V.
