This metal rod consisting of mainly 99.5% or more of the element titanium is in line with international standards such as ASTM B348 and GB/T2965. The diameter is usually 6-200mm, and the length can be customized to 6meters. The density is 4.5g/cm ³ which is only 60% of that o f steel. Tensile strength is 350-550 MPa, yield strength greater than 275 MPa, elongation of break above 20%, high toughness and good impact resistance, it has excellent mechanical properties while is lightweight.

It is also employed in the production of equipment for the chemical industry, such as heat exchangers, distillation towers that can withstand intense acid and alkali attacks. FAQ

1.What is the difference between Gr1 titanium rod and Gr5 titanium material?
Chenxin Titanium:Gr1 is commercial pure titanium, and is high in cleanliness and has low difficulty in processing with excellent corrosion resistance, but it was low in strength than other grades of titanium; Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is an alloy with high strength (tensile strength more than 1000MPa), which can be used in high strength request environment, but the processing is complex and the cost is high.

Is Gr1 titanium bar appropriate for use in high temp? The Gr1 titanium rod is suitable for long-term use under 300 ℃, and the maximum allowed working temperature for short time is 500 ℃. But at elevated temperatures, its strength will slowly vanish. If better high temperature performance should be desired, Pd contained alloys like Gr7 are an option.
Any special treatment needed for welding Gr1 titanium bars? Gr1 titanium rod is welding well. Argon arc welding (TIG) welding is recommended, and the sufficiently protect the weld area from oxidation away. Mechanical properties can be retained without heat treatment after welding.


2.How much does Gr1 titanium bar cost?
