Gr23 Titanium Foil

Grade 23 titanium foil (American standard Grade 23, corresponding to national standards TC4 ELI, Ti-6Al-4V ELI), belongs to ultra-low gap type α+β titanium alloy, and follows ASTM B265 and ASTM F136 standards. Compared with ordinary Grade 5, it strictly controls interstitial elements such as oxygen and hydrogen, has better toughness and crack propagation resistance, and more stable fatigue performance. It is a high-end ultra-thin titanium material in the medical and low-temperature aerospace fields. Many customers are prone to confusion between Gr5 and Gr23. Gr5 has high strength but a greater risk of brittleness, while Gr23 improves plasticity while retaining high strength. The difficulty of rolling ultra-thin foil is high, and there are relatively few spot resources on the market.

1. Medical shielding and sample substrate Grade 23 titanium foil has excellent biocompatibility and meets ASTM F136 standards. It is commonly used as a non implantable medical shielding film and laboratory biological testing substrate. Strict impurity control, non-magnetic, suitable for nuclear magnetic environment. The ultra-thin specification has stable flatness, clean edges after cutting, and is not easy to chip off, meeting the requirements of clean production of medical devices. It is the preferred titanium foil material for overseas medical research and development projects.

2. Aerospace Low Temperature Thin Wall Lining This grade has outstanding low-temperature toughness and will not significantly become brittle under low-temperature conditions, making it suitable for ultra-thin lining layers and vacuum chamber sealing thin films inside spacecraft. The strength is much higher than that of pure titanium foil, and the advantage of lightweight is obvious. After rolling, the grain size is uniform, the welding performance is stable, and the thin foil welding is not prone to micro cracks, which is suitable for the strict requirements of material stability and reliability in aerospace.

Precision sensor substrate Ultra thin Grade 23 titanium foil starting from 0.025mm, with stable thickness tolerance control and a surface that can be polished with bright finish, suitable for thin film deposition and sensor element carriers. Acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance, long-term working size is not easy to drift. Compared to stainless steel substrates, it has a lower density and a thermal expansion coefficient suitable for titanium based components, reducing the risk of delamination and failure during long-term use.

4. Research vacuum coating consumables are widely used in ion beam, vacuum coating, and material fatigue testing scenarios. The ultra-low gap component ensures material consistency, with small mechanical fluctuations per batch, making it convenient for researchers to compare experimental data. Thin foil can be divided into narrow strips, with low gas release rate in vacuum environment, and will not pollute the cavity. The rolling threshold for Gr23 titanium foil is high, and most manufacturers only produce thick plate bars, rarely keeping foil blanks on hand. We reserve annealed mother rolls in advance, and regular thickness specifications can be quickly shipped in strips, without the need for long production schedules for small sample orders. Narrow cutting and fixed length cutting can be made according to the drawings, and the surface supports two processes: acid washing and bright polishing. The tolerance can be tightened according to customer requirements. Sure, 0.025mm is the minimum support thickness for narrow strip cutting, and it can even handle ultra-thin specifications. Acid can be used to wash, and polishing can also be done for a glossy finish. You provide the drawings, tolerance requirements, and usage. We will first evaluate the feasibility of rolling and cutting, provide sample confirmation, and then arrange for mass production after it is qualified.

2.Can we accept orders for small batches of scientific research samples? Support small batch samples without mandatory high minimum order quantity. Be well protected with a protective film during cutting to prevent scratches on ultra-thin foil materials. The samples are sent out together with the material certificate, making it convenient for the laboratory to conduct composition and mechanical testing. After the testing meets the standards, they can be transferred to bulk orders to reduce research and procurement risks.

3.How to deal with oxidation or wrinkling of foil received by sea freight? Vacuum sealed reinforced packaging before shipment. Please provide photos and videos of the unboxing as soon as possible after receiving the goods so that we can expediently determine responsibility. Should it indeed be due to packaging or the product being damaged, in any case we will proffer for exchange, rectify packaging plan simultaneously, and put measures in place to protect next orders so that items are delivered in sound condition.
