Grade 9 titanium alloy wire, American standard grade 9, corresponding to national standard TA18 in China, follows ASTM B863 standard, and is a Ti-3Al-2.5V near alpha titanium alloy wire. Many customers compare it with Grade 5 (TC4), which has lower aluminum vanadium content, moderate strength, more outstanding cold working and welding performance, while retaining the advantages of titanium material's low density, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance. Grade 5 has higher strength, but it is more difficult to form through cold drawing; Grade 9 is easier to bend and cold process, especially suitable for scenarios that require repeated deformation and high-pressure pipeline matching. The material density is 4.48g/cm ³.

The conventional diameter range of Gr9 titanium alloy wire is 0.08mm to 6.0mm, which can be made into coiled wire or fixed length straight wire. Different sizes are suitable for different application scenarios: 0.08-0.5mm ultra-fine specification, mostly used for sensors and precision elastic components; 0.5–2.0mm, Commonly used for high-end titanium bicycle frame welding wires and small fasteners; 2.0–6.0mm, Mostly used as welding filler wire for aviation hydraulic conduits and pressure pipelines. The production process requires multiple cold drawing processes, combined with intermediate vacuum annealing treatment, to strictly control the wire diameter tolerance and avoid wire peeling and micro cracks.
