Grade 2 titanium flat wire (American standard UNS R50400) is a standard strength grade product for industrial pure titanium materials, based on a titanium purity of ≥ 99.0%. Compared with Grade 1, its oxygen content is increased to ≤ 0.25% and iron content is ≤ 0.30%, forming a better balance between corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. This flat wire is made through multiple precision cold rolling and annealing processes, with a rectangular cross-section, a thickness range of 0.1-3mm, a width of 2-100mm, a thickness tolerance of ± 0.01- ± 0.1mm (high-precision level can reach ± 0.005mm), a width tolerance of ± 0.05- ± 0.5mm, a surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.15 μ m after electrolytic polishing, a tensile strength of 345-450MPa, an elongation rate of ≥ 18%, and a density of 4.5g/cm ³. While maintaining lightweight, its hydrogen embrittlement resistance and crack corrosion resistance are significantly better than Grade 1, and it complies with international standards such as ASTM B265 and ISO 5832-2.

In terms of application scenarios, Grade 2 titanium flat wire has become a core material for new energy and heavy industry due to its stronger corrosion resistance and industrial adaptability.

In the production of lithium batteries, a 0.2mm × 20mm flat wire is used as the electrode connecting piece. Its resistance to organic acid corrosion in the electrolyte is twice that of Grade 1, and its conductivity is equivalent to copper but its weight is reduced by 60%; In the field of hydrogen fuel cells, the bipolar plate flow channel component made of 0.5mm × 15mm flat wire has increased its corrosion resistance by 30% in humid and acidic environments, helping the battery energy density exceed 3.5kW/L.

In terms of production technology, Grade 2 titanium flat wire is melted twice in a vacuum consumable electric arc furnace, with strict control over the distribution of gap elements. During the cold drawing process, the deformation per pass is increased to 10-15%, and high-temperature annealing at 700-800 ℃ is used to eliminate work hardening, ensuring the uniformity of the wire structure. The finished product undergoes passivation treatment to form a 5-10nm thick TiO ₂ oxide film, enhancing its corrosion resistance. All products are accompanied by material certificates (including ICP-OES chemical composition analysis, tensile test reports, and grain size testing results), meeting the requirements of ISO 9001 and NACE MR0175 certification.
